Power Assist & Balance Mode

Segway HT has two primary modes of operation, power assist mode and balance mode. Power assist mode was designed to help you maneuver the Segway HT when you are not on the machine. In this mode, the Segway HT's motors are used to assist the user in moving the unit forward or backward. This motion is controlled by the steering grip, which becomes a speed control when in power assist mode. This allows you to ascend or descend stairs more easily and better navigate challenging terrain.

When the Segway HT is in balance mode, a user can safely mount the machine and begin riding. The display alerts the user which mode the Segway HT is currently in.
