Experience Honolulu History and Culture for 2.5-3 hours with Segway of Hawaii!

Step aboard as you learn to learn to ride your very own Segway Personal Transporter and once training is completed your Segway tour experience takes you through the central area of Honolulu to the heart of Honolulu’s Civic Center. Our first stop is the little nestle of austere buildings that form the Mission Houses, built in 1820 by Hawaii’s first missionaries. We’ll also see Hawaii’s first church next door, also built in1820, the historic Kawaiahao Church and graveyard where many of Hawaii’s former Ali’i (royalty) are buried. We’ll also see Honolulu Hale (Honolulu’s City Hall) across King Street.

We then glide to see the gold-encrusted King Kamehameha Statue – one of three in the world – that stands in front of Hawaii’s State Supreme Court building that was once the seat of Hawaii’s government when it was a nation. We then cross King Street and enter the grounds of Iolani Palace and Royal Barracks – the only Palace on American soil built by King Kalakaua and today is a wonderful museum.

We glide around the Palace – checking out the amazing banyan trees and stop at the Queen Lili’uokalani Statue. Queen Lili’uokalani was Hawaii’s last ruling Monarch until the Americans overthrew her government and the Hawaiian Nation. Behind the Palace, we glide to the Hawaii’s State Capitol Building with its unique architecture and much more.

We then make our way passing Hawaii’s State Art Museum and along historic Hotel Street with its colorful past to Chinatown’s Shopping Mall with its noodle factories, open markets and interesting population of people from all over the world. We then head to Honolulu’s ‘Wall Street’ – Bishop Street – along the first paved street in Honolulu – Merchant Street - with its artistic buildings and also see the historic transportation buildings that are more than 150 years old.

We then head to Honolulu Harbor and the famed Aloha Tower – when built in 1926, was the tallest building in Hawaii. We’ll also check out the restored coral reef and the fish that now comes to feed close by.

This portion of the tour truly takes you back through Hawaii’s history as you enjoy riding on the technology of today!

We then glide back toward the ocean and Kaka’ako Waterfront Park, with her majestic Promenade checking out the surfers at Point Panic and glide up the hill to see the Ehime Maru Memorial and the Echo Stone and the spectacular cross-island vistas. You may even see some whales during the Winter months!

We then glide back to our starting point, all along the ocean in Ala Moana Regional Beach Park for a beautiful ending to our tour.

This tour offers an experiential glide through the history of 19th Century Honolulu and how that history has shaped the culture of Honolulu today.

This Tour is approximately 2-Hours long and will depart at 9:30am, & 2:30pm Daily.
